Venice AI API alternative for uncensored models
Venice is a privacy-focused AI platform with an OpenAI-compatible API and its own uncensored model. Silk Compute is an API only for uncensored models. They overlap, but they are built for different jobs.

When Venice is the better fit
If you want a small, cheap uncensored model for chat, or one account for many mainstream models plus image generation, Venice covers more ground. Its staking option also suits people who already hold its token.
When Silk Compute is the better fit
If the work is long and agentic, model size and context matter. Our models are large open-weight models with refusals removed, each with 1M tokens of context and long outputs, so a coding agent can read a whole repository and keep going. Because we also speak the Anthropic Messages and OpenAI Responses formats, Claude Code and Codex run on them directly, without a proxy.
Using both
Both are OpenAI compatible, so switching is a base URL and a model id. Plenty of people keep one for everyday chat and use the other for agent runs. Start with the quickstart or compare our models and prices.
